Verify and Repair Game Files

Learn how to verify and repair your game files to fix crashes, missing textures, and launch failures.

Corrupted or missing game files cause crashes, missing textures, and launch failures. Verifying your installation forces the launcher to scan your local drive against official servers and automatically download any broken or missing components.

Steam

  1. Open the Steam client and navigate to your Library.
  2. Right-click the game giving you trouble and select Properties....
  3. Click on the Installed Files tab on the left sidebar.
  4. Click the Verify integrity of game files button.
  5. Wait for the process to reach 100%. If Steam finds any failed files, it will queue an update to replace them.
